Top Ways To Save On Produce

Video Link – Save On Produce

Over the last few weeks I realized there are many things I do to save on produce purchased in our house. We like to eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegi’s and any kind we are open to! My kids (thankfully) eat and enjoy the bright colorful vegi’s I serve during meals and snacks. Alexanders most loved vegetable is pickled beets, Grandma’s homemade is his favorite.

7 Easy Ways To Save On Produce

#1 Way to save on produce — Bountiful Baskets. This isn’t new to many of you because I certainly have shared this before, but have you tried the “extras” that are offered each week? (Here is an introduction to Bountiful Baskets) It is a fantastic way to increase the amount of produce you get each week for only a few extra dollars. The first “basket” runs $17 (or $25 for organic) then you can add the extra options. Each week they vary slightly, but to ensure you can select one get on right way when your ordering time opens on Mondays because these packs can be limited.

The one I show in the video was called a Smoothie pack and it was only $8! Also, they offer cases of produce that vary during each season/week. Last week I was able to pick up 25 pounds of Roma tomatoes.

Reader Sallie was kind enough share this with me: I just want to thank you again for mentioning Bountiful Baskets in your posts. I started participating in February because of a post you made. It has changed my life and the lives of my family! Not only do I save money, I eat healthier and I’m a much more adventurous eater! I’d been telling myself for years that I needed to eat more produce and now I do. It’s a happy surprise every Saturday finding out what I’ll be eating for the week!
