My daughter and I were just at your workshop in Milwaukee and we are SO glad we went!

Can you tell me the best way to save money on meats?

Hey Vicki!!
We have a few ideas for meat purchases.
1-some meats have seasonal sales so if you have a freezer stock up whenever you see a good price.
2-always check the “manager special” or “closeout” section in the meat department. Especially if you can vacuum seal and freeze stuff right away you’ll do great in this area.
3-use Catalina checkout coupons you earn from other purchases to buy your meats (and produce too). Watch for one of our follow up emails from the class and that will explain more about catalinas if you aren’t sure what those are.
4-One of our favorites…Zaycon foods! It’s a meat wholesaler where you actually pick up your meat from a specific location and literally pull your meat off the truck. GREAT quality natural meats and GREAT prices!! Learn more about Zaycon meats.

Hope that helps!!

Hi Jen,
I attended your DMN Couponing Workshop Mon 9/14 @ 1 PM.
Thank you for the couponing information.
My wife of 30 years recently passed away. As you can image she handled all the purchasing of grocery items in the home. While I went with her frequently; she decided when, what and quantity to purchase. She clipped the coupons and, organized and managed that activity.
As I am just starting to learn grocery shopping and couponing, I am finding It is still very confusing.
Your information was very helpful for getting me started couponing.

Thanks you,
Lon Lusk

where to get free inserts?

Reply

Jennifer Freeman March 29, 2016 at

No way to get free inserts. Getting a discount newspapers subscription or a “couponers special” is the very best way to get your inserts. Usually a $1 a week.

Hi Jen,
I tried using the copy & paste from the free Coupon Finder Database and paste to grocery list, it pastes the code for the coupon listed, Suggestions?

Jennifer Freeman April 5, 2016 at

To copy, simply highlight the coupon/text you want to copy then right click & copy. If you use the copy feature at the top of the database it will select the coding format.

Hope this helps you. Jen

When it says SS#2 I can never find the coupons

Reply

Jennifer Freeman November 17, 2016 at

Hi Tyena, The SS#2 means that there were 2 Smart Sources that came out in the newspaper that weekend. If you are keeping your Smart Sources filed like we teach in our classes (filing them whole with the date they came in the newspaper written on the front) you will find 2 different Smart Sources for that particular weekend. Look in both to find the coupon. Jen

Healthy Essentials
I just used the coupon database to look up Listerine coupons. Some came up under the source “healthy essentials”. When I clicked on that link a website came up that indicated that it was not a secure website (on my url line). It asked for personal information. I did not use it as it was unsecure. Do you know if there have been problems with healthy essentials , i.e. misuse of info.
Thank you.

Hi Vicky, There should be not problem adding your information on Healthy Essentials website. They have been around for years. My only recommendation would be to set-up a new email address just for couponing. This will keep all your coupon information in one email and when you sign up there will be monthly/weekly information coming that you may not want to see in your main email.

Hello!

My husband and I attended your workshop here on Long Island on 3/26. I loved all of the information and I cannot wait to get started. I am loving the database and getting myself organized here, but how do you organize the extra coupons that you find. The ones that are in magazines like Family Circle or stray inserts. I always clip them and then forget i have them. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you again for the wonderful seminar.

Hello Jen
My Mom N I went to Your Couponing Class eariler this month in Las Vegas Nv. Thanks for sharing your story , tips and great ideas for couponing and saving money on groceries . Your class was GREAT … We are both new at couponing yet in need to be saving money on groceries . In your GREAT class , I heard you mention some of the rebate and cash back websites and Apps like Ibotta, savings-star , and check out 51 among others that are out there . There are so many different ones I see I really don’t know which ones to trust . Ive read reviews on some of them and it seemed like they were scams and dont ever alow one to ever recieve any cash back . Which ones do you suggest ? Plus which ones have you used and actually recieved cash back from ? I just dont want to put all that work time and effort towards something just to get scammed . Thanks Jen …

I know you work with New York Newsday here on Long Island. I have been receiving my five copies of the Sunday Newsday that I ordered at one of your couponing workshops. I have been noticing that there are a bunch of coupons missing from the Newsday inserts. Looking closer this week it looks like sheets are being taken out and I can see the tear marks at the edges of pages. This process has been frustrating because what I have in my inserts does not always match what the database says should be in there. This is what forced me to look closer. I have contacted Newsday, Smart Source and my delivery person, but thought you should have a heads-up that there might be an issue with coupons and Newsday. I am still waiting to hear back from Newsday and Smart Source. The delivery person said he gets the newspapers with all of the inserts in them already. He ever brought me new ones and we looked through and I showed him where you could see coupon pages were ripped out. I understand you have nothing to do with the inserts, but would like you to know that there might be a problem at Newsday.
