Easy Homemade Grape Jelly
Making homemade grape jelly is really easy and it will save you money too! Here is my frugal and easy grape jelly recipe – no canning required, just a freezer!
Easy Homemade Grape Jelly
Yields 5 cups jelly
3 cups fruit juice (bottled or frozen, prepared)
5 1/2 cups sugar
1 package Sure Jell pectin
Mix fruit juice and sugar and let stand for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, mix water and pectin in a small saucepan, stirring constantly. Bring to boil on high for 1 minute. Add juice/sugar mixture and bring to boil, and let boil for 3 minutes. Stirring occasionally until sugar is dissolved and no longer grainy.
Pour into freezer containers and freeze up to one year. Or store in refrigerator for up to 3 weeks (note it can take up to 1 week for jelly to totally set up.)
*Varieties — this same recipe can be used for apple jelly or any other fruit juice jelly you would like to try.
My Frugal Tips:
- Watch for frozen juice sales and you can make a recipe for under $1
- Pre-make Peanut Butter & Grape Jelly sandwiches and freeze them! When the kids are hungry they can grab a premade sandwich and it will thaw in 30 minutes.
