What’s best to buy in November?

Have you ever wondered what are the best months to buy certain items? Wonder whats on clearance by month? I have compiled a list of “when is it best to buy” certain items. This list is compiled from years of making the most of my money by purchasing strategically. And one of my big strategies is buy when the best price presents itself. My What’s Best To Buy This Month series will give you the guideline.

During the year, when I make note of things we need to consider replacing in the house I will wait for the seasonal sale. While I am waiting, it gives me an opportunity to stash a little money away to plan for that purchase.

What’s Best To Buy In November:

Watch toy sales, most best deals can be closer to Christmas but with the lackluster sales through 2012 many retailers may be ready to offer great deals earlier this year than last years.

November Clearance Sales: After Halloween Sales are the time to stock up for next year. Buy the Halloween candy-alternatives (Halloween crayons, erasers, watches, spinning tops, etc ~Mix this in with next year’s candy bowl).

Veteran’s Day is November 11:  Many restaurants and stores have free meals and discounts for Veterans. Check your favorite restaurants websites and stores for discounts.  Home Depot and Lowe’s have discounts.

Look for sales to get an early start on holiday shopping this month.

Thanksgiving Day is coming!  Only a little over 20 days to get great stock-up deals on broth, pumpkin, evaporated milk, cream soups & more.  See all the things below to stock-up on.

Baking Sales in full swing, look for: nuts, chocolate chips, evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, coconut, cake mixes, Canned foods (soup, broth, condensed milk, vegetables, fruits, spaghetti sauce, etc.), turkey, canned pumpkin, stove top stuffing, Betty Crocker boxed potatoes, gravy mixes, Rhodes rolls, frozen pies, cranberry sauce, Jello, and marshmallows.

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving.  But many deals are starting as early as Thanksgiving Day now!  Look for early holiday bargains on: electronics (big screen TVs, laptops, stereos, gaming consoles, etc.), jewelry, clothing, toys, etc. Consider more than holiday gifts! Most people think of holiday gifts this time of year but this is also a great time to buy an item you’ve been wanting.

Wedding dresses tend to go on sale in November.

Also, Cyber Monday is the Monday after Thanksgiving weekend. Look for loads of deals online PLUS free shipping at many online stores. (Amazon.com always has GREAT deals!)

November Seasonal Produce: Anjou pears, beets, broccoli, brussel sprouts, red cabbage, carrots, celery, Comice pears, cranberries, kiwi, lemons, oranges, potatoes, squash, and yams.
